Hours: 42 hours per week over 4 days
Pay: Β£21.10 per hour
Location: Strathaven, Scotland
Collisdene Care Centre is situated in the beautiful South Lanarkshire town of Strathaven, set amongst landscaped gardens with open views of the surrounding countryside. Designed to provide person-centred support in small groups, Collisdene consists of three warm and welcoming houses.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Nurse/Deputy Home Manager to join our team and enhance the lives of our residents through person-centred care. This role is central to promoting wellbeing, independence, and social interaction within our care setting.
To achieve the highest possible standard of care in a professional manner through direct nursing care and effective supervision of Staff Members. To take management responsibility for a shift as directed.
Key Responsibilities
- An employee needs to understand their safeguarding responsibilities, develop their understanding and skills to reduce the risk of abuse or neglect to adults who need care and support, and safeguard adults in a way that recognises their choice and control
- Adhere to all appropriate NMC guidelines/regulations and the General Social Care Council Code of Conduct
- Ensure that all existing stocks are maintained in a safe and tidy environment and reorder as and when required
- Be on call for emergencies which may arise with the Care Centre and to cover shifts if all other avenues have been exhausted
- In the absence of the Home Manager report directly to the Regional Manager
- Support and Assist the Home Manager in auditing Care Plan documentation to ensure best practice
- Maintain all logbooks and records as required by both the Registering Authority and the Company
- Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties
- Assist in the arrangements for fund raising
- Notify the Home Manager or Person in Charge as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty and also on your return to work from all periods of absence
- Ensure the security of the Care Centre is maintained at all times
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales
- Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained
- Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you
Person Specification
Essential:
- 1st level nurse (nursing) NVQ level 3 (residential)
- Previous management/supervisory experience
- Team player
- Satisfactory Policy Check and check against the PoVA list
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Genuine interest in working with the relevant Service User group
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Experience working in a learning disability service
