Activity Co-Ordinator

Hours: 30 hours per week
Pay: £12.21 per hour
Location: Strathaven, Scotland

Collisdene Care Centre is situated in the beautiful South Lanarkshire town of Strathaven, set amongst landscaped gardens with open views of the surrounding countryside. Designed to provide person-centred support in small groups, Collisdene consists of three warm and welcoming houses.

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and creative Activity Co-Ordinator to join our team and enhance the lives of our residents through engaging and meaningful activities. This role is central to promoting wellbeing, independence, and social interaction within our care setting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organising, and facilitating a wide range of activities tailored to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of individuals with varying abilities and interests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a stimulating programme of individual and group activities that promote inclusion and wellbeing.
  • Adapt activities to suit the interests and abilities of residents across all care categories.
  • Encourage resident participation, while also supporting independence and self-expression.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, and staff to identify and implement appropriate activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and resident engagement.
  • Ensure all activities comply with health and safety standards.
  • Support residents to access community resources and promote community involvement.
  • Drive the company minibus when required to facilitate external outings and activities.

 

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Proven ability to design and deliver a variety of activities for diverse resident groups
  • Friendly, approachable, and confident in engaging with individuals and groups
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Competent in basic numerical tasks and word processing
  • A genuine passion for enhancing the lives of older people and those in care
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Satisfactory PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check
  • Full driving licence and ability to drive the company minibus
