Macclesfield’s Rowans Care Centre recently enjoyed an afternoon filled with joy and laughter as two adorable ponies trotted into the home. The ponies, much loved by residents and staff alike, spent the morning receiving affection and attention from everyone, spreading happiness wherever they went.
Animal therapy, such as interacting with ponies, offers a myriad of benefits contributing to improved physical, emotional, and mental well-being. This includes reducing stress, enhancing relaxation, uplifting mood, and fostering social interaction. At Rowans Care Centre, we prioritise the well-being of our residents, and activities like the pony visit are just one of the many ways we strive to create enriching experiences for them.
Sandra Senior, the care centre manager, expressed her delight at the success of the pony visit, saying, “Our goal is to consistently plan delightful activities for our residents, and the ponies’ visit has proved to be an extraordinary triumph. It was heartwarming to witness the ponies bring laughter and smiles to our residents’ faces, highlighting the profound impact of animals and the joy they bring to our community.”
Residents were equally thrilled with the experience, with one sharing, “The ponies’ visit was a marvellous experience! Being able to pet and interact with these magnificent creatures was truly brilliant. Their calm and friendly nature made it even more special, and I’m looking forward to their next visit.”
At Rowans Care Centre, we believe in creating a warm and welcoming environment where residents can thrive, and experiences like the pony visit reinforce our commitment to their happiness and well-being. We look forward to continuing to provide memorable and uplifting moments for our residents in the future.
